Liar, liar

Is it time to start taking government at their word? And by their word, I of course mean the polar opposite of their word. On every story that matters, the truth lies not in what we are told, but in the exact opposite of that. In 1984 Orwell states:

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed – if all records told the same tale – then the lie passed into history and became truth. “Who controls the past,” ran the Party slogan, “controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.” And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. Whatever was true now was true from everlasting to everlasting. It was quite simple. All that was needed was an unending series of victories over your own memory. “Reality control,” they called it: in Newspeak, “doublethink.”

Has the Obama administration been reading too much Orwell? The rewriting of recent events seems to indicate they are. Silencing of Benghazi whistle blowers is the most obvious evidence of the attempt to control the narrative of events, thus writing history not as impartial observers of events, but as author and narrator. “If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.” Words to live by, in this White House.

Jay Carney – Bold Face Lie

We now know nearly everything said in the above clip is a bold face lie based on extensive testimony by the Benghazi whistle blowers.

Whistle Blower Testimony

When the news first broke of AP and later FOX surveillance, Attorney General Eric Holder claimed no involvement. Mere days later it is revealed that he personally approved the FOX News warrant.

And the IRS. Oh, they didn’t do anything wrong, but plead the 5th Amendment. The Bill of Rights, only applicable when it is convenient for the government. Unfortunately for the Obama administration, the web of lies is starting to fall apart here as well. Who knew what, when. Yes, it leads back to the White House. Again.

And that is the ending chapter of all these scandals. It always leads back to the White House, and their attempts to author history. Rather than writing history through bold leadership, they meekly let events unfold around them and rewrite it to suit their political careers. While people died in Benghazi, the White House did nothing but author fictitious story lines about YouTube. While the DOJ spied on American news agencies, Obama’s patsy, Eric Holder, tried to hide their actions. And despite the IRS Commissioner visiting the White House over 100 times, we’re expected to believe that, again, Obama had no knowledge, no involvement, in the harassment of political enemies via the IRS.

This White House may be a big fan of Orwell, but there is one thing Orwell got wrong. The flow of information in the modern age. While the technology enabling Big Brother is more advanced than ever, so is the technology for broadcasting the truth. And there is one other fact.

We’ve read Orwell too. And we know what you’re doing.
